MARC STRAUS (299 Grand LES) is pleased to present Moving Day, a solo exhibition of new wall and floor sculptures by Lucia Hierro. Through a series of sculptural boxes, containers, and enclosures, Hierro examines displacement, memory, and the fragile stability of home within the shifting economic realities of contemporary New York.
The new Petit H product line was introduced tonight at Hermès and they partnered with Lucia to design environments in which to present all of the products.
Lucia brought the streets of NY inside the store, from the Central Park cobblestone flooring, to dry cleaning conveyors, street signs repurposed as clothing racks, stools dressed as deli apples, milk crates as pedestals and shelving, faux brick walls throughout, mannequins created in reference to the people on signage. You can immerse yourself in Lucia's creation from October 11th thru October 26th, then it will revert to its default upscale retail-ness. Don't miss it!
